Alternate Hreflang Tags
Google herkent deze hreflang-tags en begrijpt dat product A beschikbaar is op drie verschillende productpagina's die zich richten op drie verschillende markten. Op basis van de locatie en taalinstellingen van de gebruiker kan Google gebruikers nu nauwkeurig doorverwijzen naar de juiste webpagina in de zoekresultaten.
Als je meerdere markten met verschillende talen wilt bereiken, is het essentieel om je webpagina's in die talen te vertalen.
Zelfs bij het richten op meerdere markten waar dezelfde taal wordt gesproken, kan het aanpassen van de inhoud aan specifieke regio's voordelig zijn. Dit stelt je in staat om regiospecifieke inhoud aan te bieden, zoals:
- Verzendkosten
- Valuta
- Lokale btw
- Teksten (inhoud/spellingvariaties)
Bijvoorbeeld, als jouw webshop zich richt op de Nederlandse en Engelse markten, kun je verschillende webpagina's maken die zijn afgestemd op verschillende regio's met behulp van de volgende hreflang-tags:
- "nl-nl" voor Nederland
- "nl-be" voor België (Vlaanderen)
- "EN-us" voor de Verenigde Staten
- "EN-gb" voor het Verenigd Koninkrijk
- "EN" voor Engels-sprekende gebruikers buiten de VS en het VK
Door hreflang-tags te implementeren, kun je effectief gerichte geo-targeting toepassen voor jouw webshop, waardoor je jouw inhoud kunt segmenteren op basis van taal en regio. Deze aanpak helpt Google om nauwkeurige zoekresultaten aan gebruikers te tonen, in lijn met hun taal en locatie. Door deze winkelweergaven te categoriseren, worden automatisch de juiste hreflang-tags toegevoegd aan elke webpagina, wat zorgt voor naadloze navigatie en optimalisatie.
